Do Your Part to Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

About the Pledge

The average American generates roughly 15,000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year. Where is it coming from? Cars, home energy use, everyday products, and even food contribute to our carbon footprint.

But there are simple things you can do in your daily life to reduce your carbon footprint.

Not sure how much carbon you're producing? You can easily calculate it online.

Think that you won’t make an impact? Well imagine if your pledge inspires one person, who in turn inspires another … and so on … and so on … If enough of us act, these small changes can have a big impact!

I pledge to take the following actions to reduce my carbon footprint:

  1. Change a lightbulb
  2. Recycle more and buy recycled products
  3. Check your tire pressure
  4. Adjust your thermostat and weatherize your home
  5. Unplug electronic devices when not in use
