Every year, more than 10,000 Americans die as a result of gun violence. Compare this to fewer than 200 in Canada and under 50 in Japan.
Per capita, the rate of gun homicide in the U.S. is 3.6 per 100,000 people. That's 16 times that of France, 28 times that of Australia, and 60 times the gun death rate of South Korea.
Stand with organizations like Mayors Against Illegal Guns and demand legislation that will help control the rise of gun violence through background checks and the banning of assault weapons.

The United States has an estimated 283 million privately-owned guns. Thirty-three people are murdered every day in America with guns, half between the ages of 18 and 35. I urge you to pass legislation that will, at the very least, require a criminal background check for firearms sold in the U.S.
Assault weapons should be banned, as well as high-capacity ammunition magazines. Since gun trafficking is a federal crime, it should be charged as such within the U.S.
