FDA: Ban the Custom of Feeding Poultry Waste to Cows

About the Petition

In August 2009, animal welfare organizations petitioned the FDA to end the practice of feeding poultry manure to cows because of a threat of mad cow disease. The FDA still hasn’t given these groups an answer.

Stand with organizations such as the Food Animal Concerns Trust, and demand a complete end to the custom of feeding poultry waste to cows.

To: FDA

We, the undersigned, are concerned about the disturbing practice of feeding poultry manure (a combination of feathers, feces, and uneaten chicken feed) to cows. This poultry waste can contain harmful properties such as antibiotics, infectious proteins, toxic heavy metals, and bacteria. It can even spread mad cow disease

I stand with organizations such as the Food Animal Concerns Trust in demanding an end to the custom of feeding poultry waste to cows.

Sincerely,
