NYDEC Wildlife Bureau: Protect Wild Mute Swans

About the Petition

The NYDEC Wildlife Bureau just announced a plan to exterminate the entire population of 2,200 mute swans in New York state because they supposedly exhibit aggressive behavior and pose a threat to some aquatic vegetation. The NYDEC plans to shoot the birds, sterilize them, and even destroy their eggs.

Stand with organizations such as In Defense of Animals, and urge the NYDEC to protect wild mute swans.

We, the undersigned, are outraged at the NYDEC’s aggressive plan to exterminate all wild mute swans by 2025. There is no justification for this type of hostile action.

I stand with organizations such as In Defense of Animals in urging the NYDEC to protect wild mute swans.
