Protect The Stamp That Helps Save Vanishing Species

About the Petition

Poaching, disease, and disappearing habitats are pushing endangered species to the brink of extinction! The Save Vanishing Species stamp has raised more than $1.5 million from 10.7 million stamps to protect endangered wildlife, such as sea turtles, elephants, rhinos, apes and tigers. It helps combat illegal poaching, protect habitats and funds conservation education programs.

Now, the stamp is in danger of ending unless Congress passes the Multinational Species Conservation Funds Semipostal Stamp Reauthorization Act, which will renew the stamp for four more years. Wildlife advocacy organizations like the Wildlife Conservation Society, are asking Congress to renew this important program.

If you support their work, sign the petition and tell congressional leaders to support this program and protect endangered species.

To: Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi

The Save Vanishing Species Stamp has raised more than $1.5 million for wildlife conservation, protecting animals like tigers, rhinos, sea turtles, apes and elephants. Now, this successful project is in danger of disappearing, unless the stamp is renewed by Congress.

The profits from the stamp go towards protecting endangered wildlife by combatting illegal poaching, protecting habitats and funding conservation education programs.

The Multinational Species Conservation Funds Semipostal Stamp Reauthorization Act of 2012 would renew the stamp for four more years, allowing the public to support conservation efforts around the world at no cost to the federal government.

I strongly urge you to make this a priority and pass the Save Vanishing Species Act in 2013. Please take action immediately.

Sincerely,
